Minnesota Official Tells Somalis How to Vote Without IDs
Fraud is baked into the cake in Minnesota. Watch a Minnesota official, Melanie Hazelip, tell Somalis on Somali TV how to vote without IDs.
You can also register on the same day, which is an open invitation to commit fraud in some cases.
You can also have someone vote for you in Minnesota. They have a system called “vouching.” The Department of Justice is investigating.
Additionally, Minnesota gives IDs to noncitizens.

According to Minnesota state statutes, “An employee who provides proof that they are employed by and working in a residential facility in the precinct and vouching for up to 8 residents in the facility, sign an oath in the presence of the election judge vouching that the voter or employee personally knows that the individual is a resident of the precinct.”
In Iowa, an eligible voter without an acceptable for of ID—like a driver’s license or passport—can have their identity verified by another registered voter in their precinct, just like in Minnesota.
In South Dakota, the vouching doesn’t come from another registered voter—it comes in the form of an affidavit from the individual voting. The state allows a person to sign a voter registration form stating they are who they say they are, without confirmation from another registered voter.
In Minnesota, the vouching system has been in place for more than 50 years. We didn’t have the same problems we have today. It is now a concern.
