When Toxic Masculinity Saves the Lives of Children and Teachers
The man who stopped the school shooting in Bend, Oregon, has been identified as Kalub Giamanco, 36, a carpenter and a hero who saved the lives of children and teachers at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon.
Obviously, I don’t think he’s a toxic male. He’s a real man and a hero. Just making a point here.
Mr. Giamanco, who holds a concealed carry permit, heard gunshots and followed the alleged shooter, John Griffin, who was 16 years of age. He followed him into the Silver Rail Elementary School.
Griffin opened fire into a special education classroom. Mr. Giamanco shot the killer dead, saving countless others.
Mr. Giamanco has two children who attend the school and is friends with the 7-year-old who survived. The child, who was in a wheelchair, was shot in the face.
As you have probably heard, the children were only 5, 8, and 11 years old. He also killed a teacher.
Our hero, Mr. Giamanco, doesn’t feel like a hero, his brother said. He feels guilty that he didn’t save more children.
The killer’s mother allegedly bought him the gun around the time of his birthday.
A friend described Mr. Giamanco as a hero from an early age.
