Gov. Hochul Sees a “Severe Need” to Raise Taxes: Free Childcare

Gov. Kathy Hochul suggested she will raise taxes to fund her and Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s universal childcare program Friday. She is allegedly facing pressure from Zohran’s lefty allies to raise levies after Democrats’ midterm domination.

She probably isn’t under pressure. That’s a ruse, a cover.

“When we have a severe need for something extraordinary, I am willing to do what has to happen,” Hochul — fresh off her re-election win — told reporters from the Somos political conference in Puerto Rico.

“I think you’ll see a thoughtful approach to this; it is not ideological, it’s pragmatic and what we need to do is deliver for the people to put us in office,” she said, just moments after Mamdani — who stood grinning at her side — confirmed he still stood firm in his “tax the rich” beliefs.

Isn’t it nice how as soon as she gets elected, she finds a “severe need.”

She also said a key area is universal childcare and a “path forward” will be announced at the State of the State.

Then she said she was “clear” about her views on taxes. No, she wasn’t. We all knew she was lying. That’s how she rolls, but still people vote for her.

Illegal aliens will likely be eligible. In fact, don’t be surprised if she does it for them. The left must be thrilled. They want our money, and now they can do what they want in this one-party state.

The freebies will cost a lot. They are moving the capitalist state toward socialism and eventually communism. Our electric bills have gone up 70%. Hochul is an incompent witch.
