Abdulrahman El Sayed Is Not a Member of MB, He Is MB
If the Investigative Project on Terrorism is accurate, the Michigan candidate for the Senate, Abdul El Sayed, is a Muslim Brotherhood member. He can say he isn’t a member because they don’t work on membership cards.
You know what is ironically mystifying? Jewish people and Christians will vote for him because he has a “D” in front of his name. But the “Ds” are no longer the Democratic Party, which was a normal political party not so long ago.
The IPT Records
The Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) headed up by Steve Emerson spent months compiling thousands of primary documents, hundreds of hours of audio and video recordings, and more on Michigan senatorial candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed. They published the information in six parts.
They listed many instances in which the candidate refused to disavow the Muslim Brotherhood.
The record they describe begins with El-Sayed’s years leading a chapter of the national Muslim Students’ Association, which the Brotherhood’s own records list among “our organizations and the organizations of our friends” and which a 2007 FBI intelligence assessment called “the first formal U.S. MB organization.”
It runs through his repeated appearances, as a candidate and as a featured speaker, before the Islamic Society of North America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and the joint conventions of the Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim American Society, all of which appear in the Brotherhood’s own records, in federal prosecutors’ filings, or in FBI interview reports as part of the Brotherhood’s American network.
It includes the stages he shared with speakers who rationalized terrorism, defended convicted terror financiers, and trafficked in antisemitic conspiracy theories, and the silence with which he met them.
Abdul El-Sayed says he has never been a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and no one has claimed he took an oath. The statement is irrelevant. The Brotherhood in America never worked through membership cards. It worked through the institutions it created, beginning with the Muslim Students’ Association. These records show that El-Sayed has spent two decades inside those institutions, and that he still will not say a critical word about the movement that built them. Michigan voters deserve to know about his ties to and work with the MB.
By saying he is not a member of the MB, he says nothing. He is Muslim Brotherhood by virtue of what he has done, joined, and promoted.
Declassified FBI reports, interview records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, and documents seized from a Hamas leader’s home place the MSA, ISNA, ICNA, the Muslim American Society, and CAIR in the Muslim Brotherhood’s American network. El-Sayed has helped lead a chapter of one, spoken at the conventions of three, and praised and raised money for a fourth.
The University of Michigan MSA’s own newsletters and board minutes show El-Sayed running recruitment and da’wah as outreach chair, then serving as staff writer and vice president of a chapter that planned a campaign for Tariq Ramadan and weighed a fundraiser for a Hamas-linked charity.
PT recordings and transcripts of more than a dozen events from 2017 to 2020 show El-Sayed personally soliciting donations for CAIR, praising its work, and telling Rep. Ilhan Omar that her objection to repeated demands that Muslim officials condemn Hamas and al-Qaeda was “entirely correct.” Speakers on the same programs accused “the Jewish Federation” of funding neo-Nazis and refused to condemn terrorism “as a Muslim.”
From a 2021 “Palestine Freedom Rally” to a 2026 lake-house fundraiser, the people closest to El-Sayed’s political career include an activist who wrote that Palestinians “have a right to resist with arms,” a CAIR leader who preached about “the Jews,” and a streamer who said America “deserved 9/11.”
The evidence is everywhere: Essays he pulled from public view, a deleted 9/11 post, three refusals to say Israel has a right to exist, a refusal to name the IRGC to an Iranian-American whose family it hunted, and a 2011 defense of the Brotherhood he has never retracted.
The Washington Free Beacon appears to have found proof that Abdul’s father and father-in-law are Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood should strike fear in our hearts. They hate us, and it is a terrorist organization.
The Washington Free Beacon Investigation
Abdulrahman’s father sits on a charity board with Muslim Brotherhood ties that got caught funneling cash to Saddam and was raided by the FBI and the US military.
Dr. Mohammed El-Sayed—the father of Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed—serves as a top official on the board of Life for Relief and Development, an Islamic charity with a history of federal investigations and sanctions issues.
Abdul El-Sayed’s father-in-law, Jukaku Tayeb, previously served on the group’s board. As part of his role with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which the federal government linked to the financing of Hamas, Tayeb Jukaku contributes at least $5,000 to the organization annually.
Jukaku has served on the 20-member founding committee of ISNA since at least 2007. Federal prosecutors identified the organization as an unindicted co-conspirator in the landmark 2007 terrorist financing case USA v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which culminated in the conviction of the foundation’s founders for funneling $12 million to Hamas. They also identified the ISNA as one of eight entities “who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood.”
The candidate himself, Abdul El-Sayed, quietly attended a banquet recently for an Arab-American lobbying group led by Osama Siblani, a notorious Dearborn-based activist who said that Arabs should send Israeli Jews “back to Poland,” that Israel’s actions in Gaza are “worse than the Holocaust,” and that Hamas and Hezbollah are “freedom fighters.”
