Democrat DAs Are Giving Breaks to Illegal Alien Criminals?
A House Judiciary Committee report accused Democratic District Attorneys in boroughs like Queens and the Bronx of training staff in ‘immigration-conscious plea bargaining’—pursuing lesser charges in cases involving guns, domestic violence, and child sex crimes to avoid triggering deportation.
At Thursday’s event at NYPD headquarters, Queens DA Melinda Katz shrugged off questions about downgrading gun charges, while Attorney General Letitia James smiled without responding.
The report cited internal documents showing instructions to conceal key facts in convictions, amid NYPD’s refusal of nearly 10,000 ICE detainers under sanctuary policies.
Their refusal to answer a reporter’s question is an answer.

According to the House Judiciary Committee Report via Fox News, internal communications and state data show that prosecutors were instructed to seek “immigration-safe” dispositions, downgrade felony or misdemeanor charges to avoid triggering federal immigration consequences, and exercise caution with ICE detainer requests.
For example, Bronx County District Attorney Darcel Clark, a Soros-funded DA, has been the Bronx DA since 2016. She was accused of encouraging prosecutors to charge foreign nationals with “nonexistent, legally impossible” crimes to skirt deportation.
The report’s authors offered the example of Clark’s staff getting someone to plead guilty to “attempted reckless assault,” a crime they described as legally impossible because someone cannot intend to act recklessly. They said a plea to such a crime could allow a noncitizen defendant to stay in the country indefinitely.
Jim Jordan subpoenaed blue state DAs accused of giving preferential treatment to illegal alien criminals to keep them in the country.
You should be outraged, New York. And it’s not only New York, but it’s also a number of sanctuary jurisdictions.
Soros has done potentially irreversible damage to our justice system, and he and his family have some responsibility for the damage by these people here illegally.
