Just the Facts, Ma’am, a Database Including Owners of $1 Trump Hats

Catherine Herridge reviewed Senator Charles Grassley’s report revealing his database of Republicans that appears to be weaponized to intimidate and silence GOP donors. He had a database of nearly three-quarters of a million GOP donors, including donors who only contributed or bought items for $1.

“I again call on my Democratic colleagues to join my oversight work instead of trying to defend Smith and sweep his abuse of authority under the rug,” Chuck Grassley said.

Thanks to disclosures and whistleblowers, Smith and his team were mapping the entire GOP!

The degree of weaponization is terrifying.

New whistleblower disclosures and subpoenas via Chuck Grassley “corroborate that Smith and his partisan team aimed to map out the entire Republican Party apparatus.”

Smith’s multiple data collection operations included pen register trap and trace (Susie Wiles), lawmaker toll records (not contents), lawmaker texts, and financial records. They were likely part of a larger strategy. Because combining the data sets was far more revealing, Smith has defended the overall investigation as fact-driven and non-political.

Jack Smith now has the following info on 639,000 Republicans who bought Trump hats for as little as $1 :

  • Names;
  • Dates of birth;
  • Physical addresses (encompassing most states and U.S. territories and encompassing the states of every SJC member);
  • Email addresses; Whether the individual is a registered Republican; Individuals’ congressional district and state legislature; Individuals’ occupation and place of employment (sample occupations listed include: retired, pool tech, driver, logger, safety manager, janitor, doorman);
  • Individuals’ donation amount (as low as $1; generally, donation amounts under $1,000;
  • Individuals’ credit card information (including last four digits of credit card numbers);
  • and Donor analysis data (such as one-time versus recurring donations and the amount of the donation). Are you angry yet? You should be.

Smith and his defenders say they have an obligation to collect facts. Who knew facts included $1 Trump hats?
