The New Catastrophic Racism: Tipping
Democrats have now convinced black women that tipping was invented to underpay black workers after slavery. Allegedly, that means black people don’t have to tip.
Even if they believe this history, why punish people today who work hard serving them? And is it even true in large numbers? A racial justice site says it’s true, but I wouldn’t believe that site since they are biased.
Tipping began in Tudor-era England during the 16th and 17th centuries as a custom in which wealthy guests gave extra money, known as “vails,” to a host’s servants for good service.
Aristocrats gave extra coins to servants, carriage drivers, and hotel staff to show off their wealth and social status.
The word “tip” likely started in 17th-century London coffeehouses, from a box with the acronym T.I.P. meaning “To Insure Promptitude” to guarantee fast service.
Wealthy Americans traveling to Europe brought the custom back to show they were sophisticated.
Listen to the black ladies in the linked clip discussing how they don’t have to tip because, in history, allegedly, it was an excuse to not pay blacks fair wages. The truth is, servers today are paid below minimum wage because they rely on tips. Keeping a restaurant going is a tough business, and restaurant owners often can’t pay high wages. Race doesn’t come into play. Everyone gets the same pay.
Democrats make everything about race to divide races. It helps them at the ballot box. So, even if 50 newspapers repeat an isolated study, it was a long time ago. Democrats go from one racist catastrophe to the next. They give us all race fatigue and have made the word racism null and void.
