FORTRESS, The Pentagon’s Doomsday Scenario

FORTRESS

The Pentagon is preparing U.S. military bases to keep operating for at least 90 days without outside support as it prepares for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains, and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil.

Fox News started out presenting it as the Pentagon’s Doomsday Scenario, which has alarmed some people, probably unnecessarily.

The new requirement is part of FORTRESS, a broader military initiative aimed at ensuring American forces can continue fighting even if the civilian systems they depend on are disrupted, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital.

“We need to acknowledge this reality that our bases are not a monolith, and they’re vulnerable in different ways, and our adversaries have demonstrated the capability and intent to attack our installations in kinetic and nonkinetic ways,” Ravi Chaudhary, former Air Force assistant secretary for energy, installations and the environment, told Air & Space Forces Magazine.

“We don’t want to rely on standard civilian municipal infrastructure to run our national defense;  we just simply can’t. It’s an intolerable risk,” Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell told Fox News Digital.

Alex Jones has framed the Pentagon’s FORTRESS initiative reported by Fox News as evidence of active preparation by “globalists” for a major reset, nuclear confrontation with Russia, or severe civil unrest. Basically, Jones sees Fortress as a countdown, not a drill.

In line with that, Klaus Schwab said a while back that it would take something very dramatic to usher in their globalist governance. So, I understand where Jones is coming from. Glenn Beck shares Jones’s concerns: that an imminent attack is looming.

However, I don’t think so. This administration has proven forward-thinking and wants to be prepared for any eventuality. I am in that camp for now. They do need to be prepared for the worst. Still, concerns are understandable given the tension in the world and at home.

A Great Idea?

FORTRESS seems like a great idea to me. It is something we should have done a long time ago.

Media reports say Jones uses these situations to create alarm.

Actually, I am pretty alarmed at these wars, domestic uprisings, and communist and Islamist threats, and Jones has nothing to do with it. However, FORTRESS doesn’t alarm me, and I am glad they are doing it. It’s like their idea with the Golden Dome, another great idea.

Gordon Chang’s Catastrophizing

Gordon Chang says China views the U.S. as its enemy, but the U.S. sees China as a competitor. He also wondered why Nvidia’s chips are in China with no action from Nvidia or the administration. Chang doesn’t know why.

Chang believes the CCP is prepared to go to war. Balloons have flown over US bases, and the US can’t seem to blow them down, he says. He added that he thinks the war will be fought on US soil, but didn’t explain why he feels that is the case.

He feels the administration doesn’t seem to want to break up our enemies in the US, which includes more than China.

The one thing I will say about Chang is that he is almost always wrong. Hopefully, he is wrong again.
